Please take the time to read our Terms and Conditions. By using My Bookshelf, it is understood that you agree to and accept these Terms and Conditions. The below terms are a contract of membership between you and My Bookshelf. If you do not agree to these terms, you should not use this library service.
Terms and Conditions
- Members can check out up to 2 books at a time. Books can be borrowed for 1 month. After 1 month a Rs.250 late fee will be taken from the deposit each week for 2 weeks, after which the full cost of the book will be taken from the deposit. If books are lost or damaged the full cost will be taken from the deposit.
- Members will not be able to check out additional books until any late fees and/or book replacement costs have been cleared.
- Your deposit will be refunded, minus any damages, late fees, outstanding balances at the end of membership. Upon renewal of membership, the deposit balance must be brought back up to 1000/-. If the deposit falls below 1000/- during the membership, you will be requested to top it up. If membership is canceled, your deposit will be returned minus any late fees, damages, or outstanding balances.
- You may cancel your membership at any time. If a member cancels their membership, we only refund the deposit minus any late fees, cost of damage, or outstanding balances. WE DO NOT OFFER FULL OR PARTIAL REFUNDS OF MEMBERSHIP FEES FOR CANCELLED MEMBERSHIPS, OR ON UNREAD/PARTIALLY READ BOOKS. Any books you have in your possession after membership cancellation must be returned within 3 working days, after which you will be charged for the books. My Bookshelf reserves the right to cancel a member’s membership at any time.
- To cancel your membership, please inform My Bookshelf through WhatsApp. WE DO NOT FREEZE MEMBERSHIPS OR PUT MEMBERSHIPS ON HOLD.
- If the books you have requested are available, you will receive them on our delivery day.
- My Bookshelf is closed on Sundays.
- Book requests received after 10am may not be processed on the same day, and may be dispatched on the next delivery day.
- All books that are delivered to members are sent out in good condition. Upon receipt of the book, please report any damages you find to My Bookshelf. Members are expected to keep books with care and return them in more or less the same condition. Any damages to books will be assessed and, if necessary, charged for at the sole discretion of My Bookshelf.
- We do our best to ensure you have access to the books you want. Books will be lent out and delivered to members depending on availability. Given that our service is a library, we do not guarantee that the books you request will be available at the time of your request. If your requested titles are not available, we will queue your request and send the books to you once available and according to your place in the queue.
- Our service is available in Karachi and all major cities across Pakistan. Delivery within Karachi is 200/-.
- PLEASE NOTE: BEFORE DISPATCHING BOOKS, WE SEND MEMBERS A MESSAGE INFORMING OF DELIVERY. THE RIDER MAKES 1 DELIVERY ATTEMPT. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR EACH REPEATED DELIVERY ATTEMPT THE RIDER MAKES.
Return\Exchange:
- Books borrowed from My Bookshelf can only be exchanged/returned if the wrong books have been delivered. Returns/exchanges will not be entertained at the time of delivery or once an order has been processed. In such a case, accepting a return or exchange will be at the discretion of My Bookshelf. If My Bookshelf takes the book back, it is the member’s responsibility to have it delivered and pay for any and all delivery charges.
- If a book a member wants is not available, My Bookshelf will not refund any membership payments, late fees, or payments for damages made/incurred.
